Welcome to KBJ Quarter Horses website - Home of Foundation Quarter Horse Stallions - Poco Struck Oil
As foundation horse breeders we strive to produce quarter horses with versatility. Quality bloodlines are important to achieve versatility and we think that Poco Struck Oil has the ability to pass this to his foals. Our foundation quarter horse breeding program strives for correct confirmation, kind and trainable dispositions, and performance. If you are looking to work a cow, need some speed, do halter, reining, or just pleasure ride, we have something to suit every taste.
Our first stallion, Poco Struck Oil, was purchased together in 2005. Poco Struck Oil is sired by the late Poco Ojos Grande, who was the last living son of Poco Bueno and a grand daughter of Wimpy P-1 making "Hoss" one of the youngest grandsons of Poco Bueno and one of the few buckskin grandsons of Poco Bueno left in the world today. Poco Bueno was an AQHA Champion, performance & halter point earner & ROM earner while Wimpy P-1 became a legend in 1941 when he was selected to recieve the first registraion number in the new AQHA. When AQHA was established in 1940, the founders agreed to reserve that first registration number for the Grand Champion Stallion at the 1941 Southwestern Exposition in Fort Worth Texas. We have been very impressed with the offspring of Poco Struck Oil and look forward to riding them. So far Poco Struck Oil has produced FQHR futurity champions, FQHR point earners, open show winners, & have been sale toppers at horse sales.
